Introduction to my homeopathy practice.


We all know this has been a challenging time for many people around the world and also in our own communities. People are realising there isn't a pharmaceutical magic bullet that is going to save them, or if it exists it’s a long way off. They feel disempowered with regards to their own health and the health of their families.

This is the time that people are open to discovering a different approach to receiving treatment for their ailment(s).


I believe homeopathy is needed in the world now, more than ever. Due to the lockdown, I moved my practice completetely online and have remained using the online platforms. Because of this change, and the upheaval it has created, I have decided to move my practice online permanently.


One of the huge changes I have needed to make, is to move my practice totally online. Obviously there have been some drawbacks to this, namely, patients have been unable to continue to attend due to their work schedules, but for so many, it has been a 'godsend', saving on fuel, saving time, and for me it has also been beneficial.

I have drastically reduced my travelling and my dependence on fossil fuels, and saving so much time travelling to and from my clinics, along with the associated parking difficulties.

My name is Keith Smeaton and, due to Covid 19, my homeopathy practice has now moved totally online. I have permanently closed my geographical clinics in Reigate, Surrey, and Blackheath in Kent and I am now based in Seaford, between Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings in East Sussex.

Due to the opportunities of working online, I now see patients from all over the the North, West, East and South UK, including East and West Sussex, in which area I live. I see many patients locally, Brighton, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen. In fact anywhere in the UK.

Since moving online, I also have expanded my practice to encompass European and non-European cities and towns.


What I have noticed is that patients from all areas, North London, South London, East London or West London, because of distance, or because of their particular transportation difficulties, have been particularly drawn to this online way of working and are making appointments in their dozens.

Also, due to the difficulties in finding a local homeopath, let alone one working online, I am seeing people regularly from North, South, East and West of the UK, especially those who live in rural communities, who don't have access to a homeopath either online or local.

I treat people from many European cities, especially from France, Germany, Spain and Italy.

I also treat many people from Eastern European countries, cities such as Prague, Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina,
Serbia, Macedonia, Dubrovnik, Krakow, Budapest, KIev, Ljubliana, Slovenia, and Brasov in Romania.

1. PMS Pre-menstrual syndrome
"Women can be, and many are, greatly affected by hormone fluctuations. Sometimes it gets to the point of feeling totally overwhelmed - as if for a time they have lost control of their life," says Christiane Northrup, MD, author of The Wisdom of Menopause and Women's Bodies Women's Wisdom. Dieting, stress, anxiety, depression - even exercise -are all among the factors that can create a hormonal imbalance. So there are plenty of opportunities for things to go awry.

How does Homeopathy help hormonal issues?

Homeopathy treats each case individually by addressing the whole person: the physical, the mental and the emotional. Do you find that the core emotional issue for you tends to worsen around your period or during hormonal changes? For example, if you have occasional feelings of low self confidence and depression or carry around resentment or anger, you may notice them heightening around the times of your hormonal changes. Your hormones may be intensifying these feelings, often a great deal, during these times. Homeopathy not only addresses the imbalance of your hormones, but heals the underlying mental or emotional pain that you may be harboring underneath. This phenomenal system creates a sense of equilibrium by healing on a deep level, rather than just treating or suppressing outward symptoms. With the correct homeopathic remedy, the body and mind will regain the vitality and balance it once had without the use of chemicals or guesswork on our systems.

The underlying principle of homeopathy is "like may be cured by like." This refers to the central philosophy that a substance which can produce symptoms in a healthy person, can cure those same symptoms in a person who is ill.

Homeopathy is a gentle and holistic system of medicine which works by stimulating the body’s own healing resources to overcome disease and bring about a lasting recovery. It recognises that all the symptoms of disease are expressions of disharmony within the whole person and that it is the person who needs treatment, not the disease.

Different people react in different ways to the same illness and in order to find the correct remedy I will need to know not only physical symptoms but also as much as possible about you and how your symptoms affect you.

After your first consultation, which will take about one hour, I will prescribe a remedy for you.

How quickly you will be cured depends very much on what sort of illness you have. A complaint you have had for a long time will not normally disappear overnight, other conditions often improve rapidly. You will usually be asked to come back for a follow-up consultation 2-6 weeks after the first consultation. This and subsequent appointments will last half an hour.

Whether your symptoms are mainly physical or emotional, or a combination of both, you will be asked to give as much information about yourself as possible at the consultation. As well as all the details of your current complaints, your homeopath will ask you to talk about your personality, lifestyle, moods, reactions to different situations, and your relationships, fears and dreams. You will also be asked about your reaction to foods, the environment and the weather. For example: which climate suits you or bothers you most? Do certain climates aggravate your physical symptoms? Do you have allergies? Your homeopath will need to know about your family's medical history as well as your on personal health history. When you talk about your symptoms you need to go into as much detail as you can, starting with the time you first experienced changes in your health. Towards the end of the consultation the homeopath analyses all the information you have given them and tries to find the best remedy for you as an individual, to help stimulate your body to resolve all your current symptoms. You will be prescribed a remedy at the consultation, or else your remedy will be sent to you in the post shortly afterwards, with instructions.
